Our Story: From Passion Project to Creative Powerhouse

Alex Chen sparked the idea for Pixel Hearth Studios, driven by a lifelong passion for comic books and immersive narratives. With a background in graphic design and interactive media, he oversees the artistic vision for all our projects, ensuring every piece tells a compelling story. Before co-founding Pixel Hearth, Alex worked on several award-winning indie animation projects. His favorite Pixel Hearth creation is 'Chrono-Guardians’ first volume, as it represents the realization of a childhood dream. In his downtime, Alex is an avid collector of retro video games and enjoys hiking the scenic trails around St. Paul.

Maya Singh is the technical wizard behind Pixel Hearth's interactive worlds. A computer science graduate with a specialization in game development, she leads our programming team in crafting engaging gameplay mechanics and seamless digital experiences, including our innovative AR comic platform. Her previous experience includes developing VR simulation training modules for a major tech firm. Maya is particularly proud of 'Echoes of Aethel' and its unique adaptive AI. Outside the studio, she enjoys competitive esports and teaching kids to code at local community centers.

Liam O'Connell's distinctive illustration style brings Pixel Hearth's characters and environments to life. With a BFA in Sequential Art, he sets the visual tone for all our comic and graphic novel projects, from initial concept sketches to final inked pages. Before joining Pixel Hearth, Liam contributed to several independent comic anthologies and worked as a freelance character designer. His current favorite project is designing the new character roster for 'Stardust Saga.' Away from the drawing tablet, Liam is an avid urban explorer, often finding inspiration in St. Paul's historic architecture.

Sarah Kim is the vibrant link between Pixel Hearth and its passionate fanbase. As our Marketing & Community Manager, she orchestrates our digital campaigns, manages social media, and plans engaging events that bring our community together. Sarah previously worked in event management for a major convention organizer, where she honed her skills in fostering fan engagement. Her favorite aspect of Pixel Hearth is the direct interaction with fans at conventions, seeing their excitement for new releases. In her personal time, Sarah runs a popular pop-culture blog and collects rare variant comic covers.

David Jackson constructs the rich universes and compelling narratives that are the foundation of Pixel Hearth's content. With a Master's degree in Creative Writing and a deep understanding of mythological structures, David ensures every story, from epic graphic novels to intricate game lore, is imbued with depth and originality. His prior work includes ghostwriting for several fantasy novel series. David cherishes the collaborative storytelling sessions at Pixel Hearth the most. Outside of work, he's often found officiating Dungeons & Dragons campaigns for his friends or exploring new fantastical realms in historical texts.

Chloe Wong is instrumental in visualizing new worlds and characters for Pixel Hearth. As Senior Concept Artist, she translates initial ideas into stunning visual blueprints, setting the artistic direction for future projects. Her expertise spans character design, environmental art, and creature conceptualization. Prior to Pixel Hearth, Chloe contributed concept art for a series of animated shorts and mobile games. She loves the freedom to experiment with styles and themes at Pixel Hearth. Her passion for nature often leads her to sketching wildlife and landscapes across Minnesota.
